Physical Description Liz has dark brown, slightly wavy hair which reaches to just about her cheek-bone. She has dark brown eyes, Klingon cranial ridges, and a slight scar on her right cheek from a bad fall at nine years of age. She also has a scar on her right kneecap from a Bat'leth strike at seven, and a shrapnel scar on her lower back. Birthplace: Chardra 6

History/Background/Education Liz was born on Chardra 6 to a Betazoid mother and a Klingon father. Liz lived fairly normally on Chardra 6. At age 5 however, her father, M'Rek Sur'Shess, left both she and her mother. Liz gained her Betazoid powers soon after. While on her homeplanet, Liz was teased unmercifully for her Klingon heritage. A virtual outcast, the girl turned to sports to prove herself worthy of attention.
This obsession turned to an interest in the game of Parrises Squares. An avid player, she turned into a veritable goddess of the game. Her agility and toughness turned the game into something she enjoyed every day of the week. The rough-and-tumble sport soon earned her a place among the younger generation on Chardra, and only newcomers would dare to challenge her to a game.
When Liz was 11, her mother re-married to Jim Moore, a human StarFleet officer. The result of this union was Lybbi, a little girl. Liz's mother died in an hovercar accident when Sur'Shess was 13, and Sur'Shess was sent to a home as Moore did not wish to keep the volatile Klingon-Betazoid around. While there, her obsession turned to StarFleet. Everything concerning the stars, starships, and the fleet dazzled her. She turned her natural knack for the logical order and reliance of interlocking systems and the like to a study of operations and engineering.
From 13 to 16 she studied with a passion that astounded everyone around her. At 16, she first took the entrance exams for the academy. Unfortunately, she failed to pass, striking examiners who conducted the spoken exam as both volatile and unpredictable- both of which were true. Not to be daunted, she spent time with a Vulcan counselor, learning to curb her Klingon instincts. She succeeded enough, and the next year found her taking her exams yet again. She passed.
At the academy she distanced herself from the other cadets. Despite this, one of the other cadets, a human/romulan boy, became infatuated with her, but she did everything in her power to get away from him, even to the endangerment of herself. During her junior year however, she met a Cadet Robert Jackson- a tall, dark haired security hopeful who seemed to have an interest in her. The two went out several times, and kept in touch after graduation. They have not talked in several years however.
She graduated with an operations major, and an engineering minor. Her first posting was a USS Conquest, serving as a lowly operations officer. The USS Horizon was her next foray, once again as an operations officer. The USS Garrick witnessed her advancement- assistant operations. The USS Coplan was the same, and a year later, still on the same ship, she was assigned as chief operations. She has now been assigned to the USS Crudaigh as chief operations.
Personality Profile: Often takes risks when needed, and does what is right, even if it means standing up to superior officers. She is sometimes percieved to be 'weak', but she soon corrects the impression, often forcefully. Her plans and procedures for things are sometimes considered risky or unsafe, but she always a firm line of reasoning set out as to why they are needed. She never says or does something until she has completely thought out the ends and means of the action, and makes sure she will come out onthe good end of the deal.
She has a bit of a temper, which she often struggles to keep in check. However, as with everything, she doesn't lightly enter into a fight. There is always a clear reason for the conflict, and she has already mapped out how she can win. She doesn't take much mouth off either her inferiors or her superiors, and has been known to lay a good one to even Commanders or Captains. She is very loyal however, sticking by and up for her COs with a vengeance.
Other Personal Details: She owns a dog- a little Jack Russel Terrier named Spunky. It has been her only real 'family' since her mother died.

Answer this Question: How will your new character contribute to the RP? How will he/she fit in with the others on board? I think we've already seen. She's the same character, just with different personality.
But- she's fit in well, even made a couple friends!
Role-Play Sample: Lt. Elizabeth Kahlest Sur'shess stepped down from the transporter pad. Nodding to the Ensign at the console, she swung her black pack onto her shoulder by one strap. Going out of the transporter room, she headed in the general direction of the bridge. Getting into the turbo-lift, she glanced at a PADD in her hand. "Deck 1." she waited as the lift hummed upwards.
As soon as the doors opened, she stepped out and into the bridge. Glancing about, she took in the many stations, the command center, and the view screen which revealed a 'pleasant' view of docking arms and steel beams. She nodded to the Ensign at her station and stepped over. The Ensign gave a half-hearted salute. "Ma'am." "as you were." Liz answered, taking his place at the ops console.

(Also, just an FYI for you --- the Ops Officer will most officer sit at the console, not the Security Station on a starship of this nature. You can see this position here:
There is ONE thing you need to do as your first task as a crewmember of the Crudaigh. You need to edit your photo on Photobucket so that the WIDTH is no larger than 170 pixels.
If you are on the main screen of your account, click edit, then go to resize and put 170 in as the first number. Please post back here in this thread once you have done this to let me know, and then we can get you all set up!

I can add your image to the avatar database to get the nice large size....but it will have to be no wider than 170 pixels. As of right now the original image is still 200 pixels wide. If you get it resized down to the 170 number, just post here to let me know if the link is the SAME as the one above or if there is a different link and I'll upload it to the main avatar database.
