Name: Riso Concorrigan
Preferred Rank:(Ranks can be superseded by Admin or Moderators) Civilian, to Begin with.
Position:Specify specialty within field if applicable To Be Determined
Species: Human
Age: 33
Physical DescriptionHeight, weight, hair color, eye color, any distinguishing features Riso is a normal human of rather regular build, slightly tall at 5'9" he has blonde hair and generally maintains a small variation of a beard or goatee. He is relatively fit as his history will have required of him, and, by that same token, has several scars, as the medical, or indeed, any technology of his homeland is no-where near so advanced as the Federation. He wears an immaculate dress uniform with a peaked cap and all, designed as an example of discipline to others - an example which doesn't much apply anymore, mind you.
Birthplace: Garcillae
Hobbies: Given Riso's past life, he did not have any real opportunity to develop much by way of hobbies.
Family on board?Provide details of any family on board the ship Definitely none
History/Background/Education Riso is from a life totally removed from those experienced by surely any but the oldest starfleet officer, having served as a high ranking military official of sorts charged with morale and discipline of whatever unit he found himself attached to. Holding the title of Commissar, he was well schooled and high-born by the standards of his homeworld, which was part of a small empire of planets which was rapidly expanding, taking worlds with overwhelming and merciless military force. It was only a matter of time, however, until this small empire encountered an overwhelmingly superior technological force. It was in such an encounter that Riso found himself separated from his Battlegroup, the ship transporting the regiment destroyed minutes into the engagement, he, by virtue of his good eye for escape had found himself aboard an escape pod, though the ship exploded when he was only a kilometer from it, sending his pod reeling into the darkness. he didn't even have time to panic before it put him into stasis.
Personality Profile: Riso is a Commissar, therefore, he is outwardly stoic and officious, however, beyond that, he is almost cowardly in how much value he puts on surviving, and altogether a friendly person.
Other Personal Details: Given he has been catapulted form his old position, the Stoic and officious part of him will evaporate quickly, since he needs not fear the commissariat coming after him.
Any Special Notes: While Riso comes from a people whose technology is laughably poor in comparison to the Federation's he can pick up the use and function of newer equipment and concepts easily, even if he doesn't know how they work.
Celebrity or Image: It's me! but I'm no celebrity... yet..
Answer this Question: How will your new character contribute to the RP? How will he/she fit in with the others on board? Well, because of the fashion he will no-doubt be picked up in his pod, he will create quite a bit to do initially in his arrival for Medical, Security and anyone else who might want to be involved. He will certainly offer an interesting perspective. Once he gets settled in, he will apply himself wherever he can, hopefully joining the crew proper eventually. As for fitting in, he is friendly and wants to fit in.
Role-Play Sample:Please post a 1-3 paragraph role-play sample as your character. It can be about anything you choose, but it must be in character Riso was in his office aboard the Crucible of Malediction, sorting through some paperwork relating to the regiment he was assigned to, he had pulled many strings to assigned to them, as they were extremely well disciplined and he practically had to do nothing at all, which was fine by him, honestly. He was just placing the small pile of paper in the out basket when the Shipwide Comm beeped, he looked up at the speaker in the roof reflexively "Attention! Attention! Combat stations, Enemy Encounter, Unknown Vessels". Riso went pale and dropped the papers, he had heard stories of the unknown Alien ships, and what they did to the Braxis Battlefleet, to make things worse, the cramp in the back of his neck that usually signaled impending doom was flaring up -- he had learned from many close calls to trust that instinct, and there was only one thing for it- he got up the ship shuddering already, whether it was their own artillery or an enemy strike he couldn't know, but it caused him to hurry from his office all the same.
The Corridors of the ship were sparsely populated, and then only by crew hurrying to do who-knew-what, the troops held aboard having been locked down in their barracks decks, Riso was just lucky he was in his office, a room he could freely exit, even during battlestations, he had carefully memorized the way to the escape pod, and ran along the corridors as fast as the increasingly laboring ship and flickering lighting would allow, other making a way for him, assuming he was doing something very important -- and what was of more import than saving his own hide?
Finally, after what felt like an eternity of being bounced through the corridors, but was closer to one minute, he came to an escape pod,, he pulled the activation lever and leapt inside, mashing the launch button before he had even strapped himself in. The resultant injuries as he was catapulted from the ship as it exploded were worth it if he survived...

This character is understandably pushing the limits of your recruitment process, but I always like to make my characters a little different and interesting, and even better if his arrival can be a small event unto itself - it's a beleiveable way to introduce someone to a starship so far from home.
I've been RPing star trek as steadily as the wax and wane of websites will allow for nigh on a decade now, so I am confident I can pull it off.
However, You are the Admin(s) (or you're just reading this) and any changes you want to make are entirely your choice, i'll go along with them happily, or, alternately, you can deny me outright and i'll make a normal officer -- my hopes are that, in time, Riso will become a normal officer himself, eventually joining the crew proper, but that is all up to you. His future is in your hands.
Find it hard to find the words to say what I am feeling I'm so in love, I'm so alive and I know you're the reason why

It's fine, beleive me, I am quite well aquainted with the nature of the intertubes and the propensity for people to fall out of it for long or short periods.
As I said in my initial post, my arrival would probably need a period of relative calm in the sim to happen otherwise things would be a little too hectic, as such i'm happy to wait for the oppertune time when the current storyline is winding down.
As for my post in the shoutbox, I didn't want you all to think I wasnt checking the site

Welcome Riso! Great character.
I'm hoping our next plot, which we should be starting soon, will give you the opportunity to bring your character onboard. We should have some information up about a new plot soon.
