Hobbies: Gregory spends most of his spare time either working or sleeping; he doesn't have much time for extracurricular activities. He does, however, enjoy card games; he likes the mathematical aspect, and bluffing and tricking his opponents.

History/Background/Education: Greg was born and grew up the first twelve years of his life on Angosia. However, the politics of his planet and the aftermath of a rebellion on the planet led him and his family to make a break away from the place as soon as they could. Greg spent the next five years on a transport vessel and then a starbase, and then a Federation colony. When he reached the age of eighteen, he travelled to Earth and enrolled in the Academy, where he took up the study of medicine. Oddly, it wasn't the desire to help others that motivated him, but the nature of the medical career; solving puzzles, often life or death, under intense pressure. Such difficulties motivated him to work hard and succeed, and he graduated well from the Academy at the end of his time there.
After graduating, he served on a wide range of ships, from scientific transports to frontline vessels. He most preferred those in the midst of the "action", as they provided the greatest challenge. Up to now, he hasn't served on a single vessel for much longer than two years; either himself or Starfleet usually finding him another challenge to move on to.
Personality Profile: Some of his past co-workers have called Greg the most affable doctor they've ever served with. Others have found him impossible to work with, and even refused point blank to do so. Greg often forms first impressions about people within a few minutes of working with them, ones that it is subsequently very difficult to change. His manner is certainly one that you either love or you hate; he is honest, often brutally so, and will never beat around the bush. He doesn't really know the meaning of 'tact' and will always say what he feels. As a doctor, this makes him some patients' favourite and others' worst nightmare. Greg, however, doesn't really care if his sometimes brusque manner offends people.
Other Personal Details: Greg has varied opinions on the chain of command... if he gets on well with his commanding officer he'll follow their orders no matter what. If he disagrees with the way they do things then he'll do almost anything in his power to avoid acquiesting to their wishes, even on small details, even sometimes to the detriment of himself.

Answer this Question: How will your new character contribute to the RP? How will he/she fit in with the others on board? I think our dear CMO will enjoy having a foil to play off in sickbay. Certainly the sickbay needs some more doctors running around, I think!

Greg glanced over the top of the cards in his hand at the others seated around the table. The guy opposite him looked nervous, the others less so, but still a little uneasy. Greg liked that; there was nothing he liked more than knowing that he'd won the hand before he even placed a bet.
"All mine again, I see," he said, smirking a little at the others. Two of them threw down their cards, and the third hesitated for a moment, then did likewise.
"You're really killing the fun, here, Barlow," said the guy on his left. Greg just shrugged a shoulder.
"For you, maybe," he said, matter-of-factly. "I'm having a great time." Gathering his chips together, he stood from the table. "Well, I guess I'll be going," he said. "Shift on in ten. Bye chaps."
Waving and giving a half-salute to his disgruntled colleagues, Greg made his way out of the crew lounge into the corridor, and off towards sickbay. Places to go, people to treat and all that.
