History/Background/Education Kinin was born to a dishonorable Klingon mother who had committed criminal acts, and a high ranking Klingon official whose name has never been revealed. He didn't want to see a blood child of his killed, so Kinin's mother was sentenced to Rura Penthe until such time as she gave birth, after which she was then executed. At her birth, Kinin was placed back into Klingon society, never knowing her family history until it was released by someone wanting to discredit her father. Shamed and dishonored, Kinin fled her homeworld, entering Starfleet. She discovered that Starfleet gave her a chance to reclaim her honor, serving a people and a cause that she could wrap her heart around. Her loyalty and unfailing devotion to her superiors prompted her appointment to the USS Crudaigh.
Personality Profile: When Kinin likes you, you can have no better, loyal friend. When she dislikes you, watch out. Her barbed tongue is usually kept under tight control, but off duty she can let her opinions be known. She has a soft side, but she has to let you in first. Insecure at times, she can take criticism hard.
Answer this Question: How will your new character contribute to the RP? How will he/she fit in with the others on board?
Kinin will probably have strong opinions about the mixed Klingon crewmembers. She is loyal to the ship, dedicated to duty and regulations. She loves a good story, and will listen intently to the tales told by others. Things might not go so well when she discovers Talisa, the science officer, is Rihansu. She will probably look upon the Captain as a father figure, something lacking in her life.
Role-Play Sample:
The air was filled with the sound of phaser fire, the smell of smoke, and the sight of her crewmembers falling all around her. "Get him out of here," Kinin shouted to a man carrying the still-breathing body of their Captain. As she watched them go, she could hear the approaching footfalls of reinforcements around the rocky outcrop. "Stay in formation," she said, addressing the security detail behind her, "don't break unless I give the word."
Shadows deepened as they waited. Their enemies had stopped, as if willing the crew to panic into error. Kinin could hear the fast breathing of the men and women behind her and she wished she could give them strength. They were all new, fresh out of the Academy, and they didn't deserve this.
A scuffling sound caught her attention, and she turned in time to see two men break ranks and run. They didn't get far, as they were gunned down in an instant. "What part of my order did you not understand," she hissed at the group. She could see the fear on their faces, not much younger than hers. Sighing, she said, "stay here," as she crouched down and made her way to the edge of the outcrop.
